Deep-fried Yam and Sweet Green Pepper Miso Soup

The crispy texture of deep-fried yam is very enjoyable.

Ingredients (4 servings)

Yam 150 g
Shishito (Sweet green pepper) 8
Ground sesame 1 teaspoon
Dashi stock 800 cc
Miso 3-1/2 tablespoons

Directions

  1. Peel the yam and cut into proper sizes. Deep-fry it in vegetable oil at 180 °C.
  2. Bring the dashi stock to a boil. Dissolve the miso and add the yam and shishito to cook.
  3. Serve the miso soup in bowls with the ground sesame sprinkled.

Deep-frying yam makes the miso soup savorier.
