Sawaniwan-style Miso Soup
With chicken and plenty of vegetables, this miso soup can be a main dish.
 
 
Ingredients (4 servings)
| Chicken | 50 g | 
| Burdock | 1/2 | 
| Carrot | 1/2 | 
| Konjac (Devil’s tongue) | 1/2 cake | 
| Daikon radish | 1/4 | 
| Banno-negi (Thin green onion) | 1 stalk | 
| Dashi stock | 800 cc | 
| Miso | 3-1/2 tablespoons |

Directions
- Cut the chicken into proper sizes and the burdock, carrot and daikon radish into chunks.  Cut the banno-negi to 2 ~ 3-cm length.  Boil the konjac in water and tear into pieces with a spoon.
- Bring the dashi stock to a boil and add the ingredients except for the banno-negi.  After the ingredients are cooked, dissolve the miso and boil for a moment.
- Serve the miso soup in bowls with the banno-negi sprinkled.
★ A Note
Sawaniwan is a pork broth soup with a lot of vegetables.  Chicken, burdock, daikon and carrot all give good tastes in this miso soup.
