Chinese Chive and Thick Deep-fried Tofu Miso Soup
Thick deep-fried tofu (atsuage) and tempura bits (agedama) absorb the flavor and umami (good taste) of Chinese chive (nira) in this miso soup.
Ingredients (4 servings)
Atsuage | 1 piece |
---|---|
Nira | 4 stalks |
Agedama | 4 teaspoons |
Dashi stock | 800 cc |
Miso | 3-1/2 tablespoons |
Directions
- Cut the atsuage into proper sizes and the nira to 3-cm length.
- Bring the dashi stock to a boil, add the atsuage and nira and boil for a moment.
- Lower the heat and dissolve the miso. Serve the miso soup in bowls with the agedama sprinkled.
★ A Note
Atsuage, agedama and nira are all tasty but inexpensive. They are economical ingredients for miso soup.
