Aralia Sprout and Tempura Bits Miso Soup

A slight bitterness of Aralia sprouts (tara-no-me) gives a taste for adults.

Ingredients (4 servings)

Tara-no-me 4 ~ 8 sprouts
Agedama (Tempura bits) 4 tablespoons
Shichimi togarashi (Japanese mixed spices) A pinch
Dashi stock 800 cc
Miso 3-1/2 tablespoons

Directions

  1. Remove the tough parts from the tara-no-me.
  2. Bring the dashi stock to a boil and add the tara-no-me. After the tara-no-me is cooked, dissolve the miso and boil only for a moment.
  3. Serve the miso soup in bowls with the agedame and shichimi-togarashi sprinkled.
